The economies of rural villages in developing nations are highly dependent upon small, family farms. In these areas, animals and humans substitute for the heavy machinery we normally associate with farm operations. This reliance upon animals only increases the need for treating them with a care regimen other parts of the world consider fundamental.
|
Thousand Hills Mission recognizes the vital importance of animals in the day-to-day lives of people throughout the world and has formed a ministry to deliver essential veterinary supplies, services and training, in addition to hope through the message of Jesus Christ.
Essential care includes the prevention of, or treatment for, parasitic infestation and disease and the ability to diagnose and treat conditions when indicated. Essential care is the rapid response to an injury including antibacterial preparations, antifungal treatments and wound dressings. Essential care is preventive medication: vaccinations for rabies, lepto, anthrax, black leg and tetanus.

An animal is much more than a pet. |
It is your plow. It is your transportation. It puts food on your table.
In lands where there is an absolute dependence upon cattle, oxen, mules, horses, pigs, sheep, goats and chickens, necessary treatment for these animals vaccinations, wound dressings, antifungal preparations are not affordable or available.
Thousand Hills Mission organizes trips to these lands, bringing veterinary and agricultural expertise, a teaching mentality and vital supplies so that, with your generous contributions, the people may begin to care for their animals in a manner that is both vitally important and ultimately humane.
This IS living the Gospel in the world.

Providing service to animals requires an understanding of the people who own them; their needs, hopes and values.
