| During the return flight from a Baptist Medical and Dental Mission International (BMDMI) trip in May 2003, Mark McBride had a vision for better helping the people he had just met in Nicaragua. Affected by the poor conditions of the cattle, horses, mules, dogs and other animals he encountered, McBride foresaw the impact of sharing the knowledge he gained working on farms and ranches in western Oklahoma. Education is essential but so too is the need to provide veterinary supplies – items that most Americans can access easily – but which are virtually nonexistent in areas where people depend upon animals in their struggle to put food on their tables. |
| Once home, Mark shared his vision for a ministry to animals with longtime friend, JP Fox, and the concept of Thousand Hills Mission began to take shape. It soon became clear to both men that such an operation would require volunteers with veterinary expertise, cooperation from veterinary supply manufacturers and cash donations to fund mission trips and provide ongoing veterinary assistance, including vaccines and supplies. |

| Mark McBride is a longtime member of the farm and ranch community, having worked until recently as the manager of a large ranching operation. His family still operates a ranch in Seiling, Oklahoma. |
| Mark is employed as a Project Manager for Dub Stone Construction Company. He and his wife Alana have six children and make their home in Moore, Oklahoma. They are members of the First Baptist Church of Moore. |

| J.P. Fox is the President of Lumber 2 Home and Ranch, a retail lumber store and supplier of agricultural supplies. The Fox family owns several businesses revolving around ranching and farming operations and maintain a ranch in Hollis, Oklahoma. J.P. and his wife Mindy have two children and reside in south Oklahoma City. |
